Amy Jade Winehouse comes from London, England, born on Sept 14th '83. She sings and she writes her songs and she's also famous for scandals in her personal life as well as drug abuse.
She has a very powerful voice and the genre of her music is more soul and jazz (her dad loved jazz music).
Her 1st album came out in '03 and was named "Frank". It got to platinum stage and got her nominated for Brit Awards in '04 for "Female Solo Artist" and "Urban Act". Her 2nd album came out in '06 under the name "Back to Black". Since coming onto the scene she received 56 nominations so far and won 23 of them which include Brit and MTV awards. She won a Grammy Award for Best New Artist in 2008. She's been working on her 3rd album for a while now, but her personal life is what keeps her in the limelight at the moment.
She married her current husband, Blake in May '07 and they've been on and off ever since, finalizing their marriage in Aug '09. Their turmolous relationship along with his time in jail have contributed to them falling apart.
Even after the breakup she remained active in the gossip magazines due to her skeleton looks, the white stuff in her nose, marijuana, assaults and apparent boob job. She went on to form her own record label but not for her own albums. She also has a bit of entrepreneurship in her, opening the doors to her own nightclub.
